Shes a great girl overall, love her to death. Just too disagreeable and anxious for me. She is way too sensitive and takes shyt too personally whereas i am somebody who is laid back and big picture oriented. Not going to deal with that shyt in my own home

Too much bad history between both countries (Angola vs Portugal).

Now, bad history is not the same as bad blood. Angolans in general love going to Portugal, shyt is like a second home to many (they even buy property and live out the remainder of their retirements there).

But the way I was raised was a bit different. I just don't think it makes much sense for me to associate with them in any way shape or form, let me deal with other white people (americans, germans, french, etc...) IF I should ever need a cac for anything (which I never have needed), that's the way I see it.

They colonized us to the point that even when we drove them away through war, finally, the very first "first lady" of Angola still turned out to be a 100% cac-portuguese woman. WOAT first lady too. My parents raised me right, but only in college did I learn what they tried to explain to me as I was growing up. Angolans suffer from Stockholm syndrome in regards to the portuguese.

This fact fed my aversion to Portugal and the portuguese. There's more than enough of us trying to be cool buddies with them since "slavery/racism ended". Even after they show us time and time again that the only negros portuguese don't fukk with in Portugal are the ones they used to own once upon a time. They'll act liberal as hell with other blacks, especially American ones, but portuguese blacks still are beneath them.

Personally, I couldn't give two fukks about that country, but I do wish we angolans had, as a country, the decency to follow proper divorce procedures as the battered victims in that awful marriage called colonization.

But I understand why not many would share my views. They're enough for me though.

@MikelArteta you just reminded me, I did see a couple of threads in the last two-three years about a lisbon trip from some people here. I skipped them threads like a fugitive dodging the law'n'em.

But I'm cool with black people who are not from portuguese colonized countries enjoying Portugal. As much as I hate it I also understand the position it holds in Europe for tourism, namely the hard to beat prices, great climate and a bunch of other shyt.
I just wish there was more heat on them from the countries they colonized.

when i went to lisbon I actually did some african lisbon tour it was ran by a cape verdean guy, also he took us to a cape verdean restaurant. I do agree it is messed up what these countries did and how they never had to pay

100 - I’m at this point now too. If she leaves, oh well, I have a lot to offer in the dating game. If she stays, that’s cool too as long as she doesn’t bring more bullshyt to my front door.

This is why I have such an aversion to Angola. When I visit a country on the Continent, I wanna hear everything Afrikan, names and languages included. Even the DRC, although French was everywhere in Kinshasa, there are places were it's only Lingala and depending who's speaking to each other, they would switching back and forth between languages. These is cultural power isn't it? I can make you hate your own cultural names, religions and languages and make you follow mine. I'm of the opinion to drop ALL former colonial languages and names. How's he worst that can happen? The literacy rates are already low, we're the poorest and taking the names, religions and languages doesn't stop them from discriminating against us, right?
