Regardless of gender, the idea that another person can either make one happy/make one unhappy, is probably (certainly) a flawed and unreasonable position. It cedes way too much control to another. But, that's a popular narrative that someone else can do what we cannot. That's why so much research and therapeutic concepts push being happy on your own first.

Depends on the level of the issue. I’d be more concerned if she wasn’t open to helping you discuss it or find a solve.
