it does sound fishy because these guys just randomly bought shopping bags for davids gf? i know guys are simps but it sounds like she may have already had some type of relationship with the guys if they already breaking bread on her. It was right for david to be furious
i think the gf is either real dumb or trying to be smart. i notice she portrays herself as very passive as if it wasn't her decision to go since the friend asked her to come (like she had no choice or will in the matter). I notice she's trying to regulate how he should feel about stuff.
As far as the actual situation, if it was my girl, i'm not down with that type of shyt. but even beyond that, her reaction when he brings it up is even more disrespectful to me (unless dude did a little too much when he was furious at her).
Overall, if i'm in a relationship with a girl and she doesn't even see why i don't like what she did in this situation or worse, plays dumb, it just tells me we're not compatible. Some guys would be cool with it and that's on them (everyone has different standards and codes, not necessarily right or wrong). but once she sees i'm firmly not cool with it, she should either respect it or leave me. Matter of fact, if i see that she's not cool with me not being cool with it, i'm probably leaving her right then and there.
in this situation, there's no magic tricks. just hit her up and reminence bout hs, ask her what shes been up to.

I ALWAYS check menus before going to a restauranttotally agree. that getting up for the bathroom move is very corny on her part. but he should have eaten that L cause he's still responsible for it.
also, he should have googled the place before going. and if he was really tight with money, he should have asked for the bill right away when the waitress offered the desert menu.
i only had one awkward date with a girl in my whole life as far as the bill and it was because i legit lost my card which i'm pretty sure she didn't believe. didn't have no cash either. I learned my lesson and i always have some cash as well as some change on me now.

as a first date? naa...its too "interviewish" and boring if you get what i mean. Same thing with dinners. I understand the price factor and not spendin alot on a girl you taking out on a first date...but women like havin fun. Everytime i've taken a girl out on a fun first date, i've always got something in return later on. Plus, with coffee/dinner dates you can't really get physical.
if anything, i'd reserve that kinda shyt for after i've got it in with her.
when i was in my late teens/early 20s i was convinced bytches wouldn't fukk with me cuz i either didnt have a job or i had some shytty job and shytty car.. self esteem was tied to having things to attract bytches with.

i've had coffee with girls and we stayed for a good hour having fun/talking/joking. then later on if it goes well you go on a walk with them, then you take them to the movies or whatever. in her mind, it'll feel like a second date and you smash at night
. at the same time, if you're not feeling her at coffee you just cut your losses and end the evening.it depends on the girl. some girls you might not vibe with just talking with no activity but you might vibe very well bowling or pool or whatever. and some it's the opposite. but coffee is the lowest investment money wise and you can always build on top of it.

i usually do 2 dates in one. Like mini-golf then coffee or a movie and that usually escalates the attraction process. However, the shorty i went out with recently we just did coffee...and yea we had laughs here and there but my whole demeanor was fukked as i placed her on a pedestal because of her looks even though i kept tryna tell myself not to. Therefore, because of this mental clash of trying not to put her a pedestal and subconsciously puttin her on one i was nervous and shyt with my responses/body language and gradually saw her attraction towards me decline more and more as time went on.

one thing that helped me as a youngin was that i used to work at a department store and the makeup/perfume kiosks girls were banging. some of them were cool and some had shytty attitudes. and i got to see a lot of them with and without makeup. nowadays, i could see the baddest girl and my eyes zero-in on the make-up, clothes, wrinkles, smudged nail-polish etc. not saying i can't be "smitten" by a chick or whatever but it will mostly be off her charm/looks combination.
