2. and why do you view kobe as shaq's side kick and not an equal partner?
Kobe was leading the scoring half way thru the season and probably could've dropped 32+ppg that year but Phil told him to dial it back so Shaq stays engaged. He was clearly the best player on the Lakers from that point on and probably best in the league. If Kobe never played with Shaq he wouldn't have as many titles but his early career stats would've been ridiculous
Imagine being back in 2001 again and having someone seriously suggest this bullshyt.
Shaq was widely considered the most dominant player in the game, possibly the most dominant ever, while Kobe barely even showed up on the MVP ballot and didn't even make 1st-team All-NBA.
Imagine 2001 Shaq getting outscored by 10 by his Finals matchup.

Give it a few years after Bron retires. The new generation will put everything back to normal and laugh at Lebron's 3-6 finals record and rank Kobe ahead of him. These "In the moment" Generation kids are what's hyping up this "GOAT" talk, but as soon as the new generation grows up (today's babies), they'll look back at what they missed out on (Bron's run) and treat him like a Jerry West, like "Yeah dude was cool, but he lost all those finals??"
then they'll look at Kobe's stats and highlights and be like, "Yo, yall seen this Kobe Guy from back then? why ain't he ranked higher, he got 5 rings and his stats are like"
