Yeah, it took this show for me to realize. When she was on the Cosby Show she still kinda came off like an awkward teenager. She got her grown woman/lawyer steez poppin' on this show.
Because its weird to me that its something Latifah feels the need to bring up, seeing as the concept of living single was generic as hell and used by shows bigger than it.

Friends was clearly influenced. Where the writers played it smart was by emphasizing the natural differences in characteristics that come with changing locale and making them all white.
