They also get the blame when they throw a perfect pass that the WR fukks up and causes an INT/drop.

Who cares? Every QB has their stats count the same so they're still a useful way of comparing QBs.

If that QB throws a bad pass and it hits the receiver's hand(s) most times its counted as a "drop". Regardless of how horrible the pass was

receivers get called out for messing up all the time.

where you been homie?

a good point guard makes the players around him better. cant say the same for a quarterback.

im far from a baseball expert, so i'll let somebody else handle that one.

Although I Somewhat Agree With The Thread This Is BS lol

So for all of you that agree with the OP, how would you change this? QBs should only get credit for the yards when the catch is made?

A wacky statement indeed. You should turn your rep back on like a man, because I'm sure it's red from the nonsense you spew

Word....it's cool that they don't credit the QB with an interception or an incomplete pass in those circumstances.

i stand by my point guard/quarterback statement. please name me these receivers who went to chit when they stopped playing with a certain quarterback. if anything, its the other way around.

Let's put it like this, which WR are making noise in the NFL after playing with Tom Brady, not one. While I agree QB's get too much credit, it's crazy to think that the best ones don't benifit the WR's.

It depends, you really gotta look at it case by case

Welker definitely benefits from playing with Brady but on the other hand Moss made Brady look better then he really is

Montana and Young also benefited from playing with the goat WR

Rich Gannon is another one that benefited from playing with goat WRs

Megatron got Stafford looking waaaayyyyyy better then he really is

Of cousre some average nikka Branch,Givens,Brown etc. will benefit more from playing with great QBs because they aren't that good to begin

Matt Ryan is another one that looks better then he really is cause of his WRs

You refute his point...

this always sickens me.

today, espn is throwing a parade for andrew luck's 3-yard pass that was turned into a 60-something yard touchdown by the receiver. to make it worst, they compared it to when peyton did the same exact thing on his 1st preseason pass as well. i cant even tell you who caught the pass yesterday.

at least despite all the hoop-la today, andrew luck said it was great how all he had to do was throw a 3-yard pass.

list some more examples. f*ck this chit.

Tom Brady :scusthov:

yes, this is 2012 not 1971

we act like game tracking doesn't instantly calculate yardage

We can just as easily split the stats bracket. We don't always have to do shyt the same way.

QB- yards thrown
WR- YAC
Offense - TOT passing yards

Thats 3 angles of the same stat and a complete picture.

Also...

QB- Missed throw
WR- Dropped Pass
Offense- Incomplete passes

Also...

QB- IT (interceptions thrown)
WR- IC (interceptions caused...defined by deflected balls or stopped routes)
Offense- Turnovers by interceptions

So you want passing yards to only reflect yards the ball travels in the air....should receiving yards be just yac?

Edit: I see you're saying yes. That's silly. A HUGE part of receivers job is getting open down the field and only getting yac fails to capture that. It would obliterate y/rec numbers for no good reason. That's hustling backwards as far as "advanced" stat reporting is concerned. :snoop:

bruh, thats the point of having the discussion

stats can be split open and broken up MANY TIMES

You could easily still keep the receiving yards as a high level summary of their performance

but you need finer details when you're actually trying to get someone cut from a team
