It was okay. The pilot didn't really focus on the mission, but the supporting staff roles increased. I don't know yet.

The original Quantum Leap is one of my favorite shows of all-time. With this one, the first season is kind of rough. It started to hit its stride early season 2. They do split time between the leaps in the past and present with Team Project QL, but I think they started to find the balance early season 2
