Nah. This team is an 8th seed at least but Fisher bonehead rotations have caused a few losses and the playcalling hasn't been that great. This team has enough to at least ne competitive but, they've come out flat a lot. This team damn sure isn't the best but, the triangle is predicated on a great scorer, skilled bigs for highpost plays, and athletic wings. The problem is the league as a whole is pg oriented with guys that can do a little bit of everything but also shoot 3s.knicks aren't a great 3pt team besides a few players.He doesn't need "great" talent. He doesn't even have good talent. NY is 26th in fg% 26th. And they are 23rd in ppg. 23rd. They're 24th in 3P%. He looks more than "competent". It's to Derek's credit that their record isn't much worse and that they're even in games against the teams they've played. Because of him, they have a chance to win every night, except they don't have a chance because they can't shoot. With what Derek has done, he'd likely run away with the East if he just had Atlanta's team. He wouldn't even need the Cavs. Half the Knicks aren't average shooters or even below average. They're complete trash on offense. At least they'll always have their league-leading 81.1% from the free throw line.I have to laugh to keep from crying.

Porzingis needs to stop rushing hit shot and going up soft to the rim. It's fukking annoying me.
It can't be stressed enough but this 1st unit is fukking dreadful. It's way too slow. Way too much half court offense.
The starting five isn't athletic enough to run with other teams like that. We need a younger starting pg it starts there. The triangle is obsolete at this point with how offenses are predicated directly on pgs and shooters on the wings. Even PF can stretch the floor at this point.

More evidence the knicks need to put Afflalo in the 6th man role. They also need to play more small ball but that is another issue
Every time I see somewhere online that Matt Barnes is suspended for 2 games because of the Fisher incident, I get pissed. Why? Because as yet there has been no mention of a Fisher suspension. 
I think the writing is on the wall. Fish may be a great coach one day. Just not today. Did dude ever even express interest in coaching when his playing days were over?
He woulda been much better served going the assistant route a la Cassell or T Lue. But shyt I wouldnt have turned down that 5 mil a year fresh outta retirement either

Do I think this team can challenge for the east or even the atlantic? Hell no. But we are still underachieving IMO. With better coaching we can at least challenge for the 8th seed up until the final week of the season and possibly get in. After a 17 win season, that's progress to me. But Fish is digging a hole we might not be able to climb out of IMO.
Where the fukk is Chris Duhon? Surely even he can give us more than Sasha.

As currently constructed this is not a playoff team, if it were last season yeah they'd get in, but the East has finally risen and it's looking like you'll need a + .500 record just to get the 8th seed this year.
