You guys realize how easily we could have ended up looking like the Heat right now if we had gone after Durant? Have there been any positives for them this offseason. I guess resigning Whiteside... but how useful is he when you don't have anyone else?

13. And finally, don't be surprised to see Ron Baker get a camp invite and to make the team as an undrafted rookie. He's been pretty good in Orlando and repeatedly I was told "he just plays the right way all the time. All the time. It doesn't translate here (Summer League) because this is bullsh*t basketball. But this guy can play. He'll be in the league."

A young 7 footer on a non-guaranteed contract after this year...can't hate on it too much. Plumlee's been consistent and better than I expected (because I expected a bum) and at worst, he's a throw in contract for a team that can release him without penalty. Plus if he shows even slight value, bigs always seem to be overvalued.

...reading PorZinGAWD:fire: is a gym rat; just makes our future look even brighter:gladbron:

ZenMaster can't be still serious with implementing that Trapezoid offense, tho:camby:
Im a fan of using elements but not the full triangle. The Warriors use elements of the triangle and i like their offense:manny:

Lee: “Before free agency, I was talking with Noah and it’s great seeing how passionate he is. This offseason, he’s getting out of breath just being on the phone – like he’s running sprints – but it’s because he’s talking about the city, talking about the fans, talking about the team and talking about everything we can accomplish together. He’s excited and he was recruiting me pretty much the entire time, telling me that I was the missing piece and what not. He kept telling me, ‘Let’s get it done!’ Noah was in my ear a lot.”

I can't believe he has a 6'8.5" wingspan, that is a lot shorter than his natural height and a discrepancy that large seems really rare in people. Anyone can speak to how he looked in college and in summer league so far?
Plumlee is nothing more than an enforcer. He's a big energy guy, and likes to bang down low. Strong kid that will only get stronger.

I'm sorry but...
Who, as a fan or as an exec, said we're in for a slow rebuild?

I'm not sure what you mean by "slow" -- but it was said repeatedly that they were not looking for a quick fix, and that the team was looking to progressively build through the draft. Phil has said it many times.

That is clearly not how they are operating anymore. So we'll see if the latest incarnation of this strategy works out better than the last few. I certainly like this one more, especially because of KP, who we got through that one year of building through the draft.

Got this from a poster on realgm but there's so much interesting ish in this that I think it's really worth spreading the love.

Not to be a dikk, but I'm calling bullshyt on almost all of that post. I find it highly suspicious that whomever smitty "talked to" loved all the knicks latest moves, and didn't care for some of the older ones.

That shyt reads like it came out of the Knicks pr office. They traded away grant, and now they don't like him? The "had to have" Rose? They acquired Joakim and Lee and Kuzminskas and Hernangomez is coming over, and they love all of them? Summer league is bullshyt basketball, so Ron Baker will be fine, but Jerian Grant didn't play well in summer league, and they knew immediately he was a "reach" -- even though he went where he was projected AND there are only like two useful guys taken in the next ten picks? Also, he played well in the actual nba late in the season, does that not count? Triangle is still larger than life, and more of a state of being and not just a system?

It's just a little suspicious to me. :manny:

This summer team is trash as fukk, tho. You gotta wonder, with all the roster spots that were up for grabs, how the fukk did nobody want to come and compete for a shot to make the team? That's crazy to me.
