Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Noah is an overall better defender than Biyombo though

Not the last 2 seasons he hasn't :yeshrug:

noah only play 29 games last season vs 82 games biyombo. noah is better than biyombo if he's healthy

Noah can't even finish at the rim, are you just ignoring all the Bulls fans who been saying he can't even make layups?

I wanted Biyombo, can't front about it. I assume the Noah target was based on his extreme interest in the team and name value; his ability to switch onto smaller defenders in PnR situations (I expect a switch everything type scheme with our front court); and the fact that he's a good passer which is Phil's favorite big man attribute. Biyombo for the same price at 24 years old is really tough to argue against except for the fact that he's unproven as a full time starter, but I'm pretty confident that's not gonna be a problem.

We are also arguing under the assumption that Biyombo was willing to come to NY or hear them out.

The clock was ticking... Noah had the Garnett type personality that would help Porzingis be even more arrogant and confident than he already is.

^ And that's even if Noah only shows up on the bench and in practice.

Biyombo wouldn't be helping in Porzingis' development...he's wet behind the ears also.

Don't forget...we bring in Biyombo... we don't get a much needed Courtney Lee.

I'm fully aware of the flaws in the 4 year contract for Noah but, like much of life, it's a gamble.

Had we hesitated... tried to push a Biyombo contract... and leverage would have been created..we'd have been in a bidding war with other teams... With OUR track record...we'd have been left with nothing in our hands but our dikk.

No Noah...No Biyombo.

Let's push forward.

You don't sign Noah to a 4 year deal to bring him off the bench.

If your goal is to turn Kristaps into a C in the next 2 years, you don't sign Noah, you keep caproom for next year because Blake, Ibaka and Millsap will be free agents, you know....power forwards.

:ld:
Porzingis is a PF I don't know why nikkas rush him into being a 5. :yeshrug:

Yes, that chart has him as a superior rim protector but Noah is superior at all other aspects of defense. The chart has him as a better defender on every other spot on the floor. Noah still rates as an above average rim protector, and he's better at switching and reading the P&R, defending the post, and directing traffic, rotations, double teams and traps, coming up with steals, and making sure teammates are in the right spots, better defensive rebounder and at boxing out, better at drawing charges. Biz isn't quite the glue or anchor Noah is he's just a strong raw athlete who can protect the rim. They aren't close in IQ. Noah had a better defensive plus minus than Biz too.

Also, Bismack is undisciplined averages 4 fouls per 36 minutes for his career, 4.5 last year fouled out of playoff games. Noah has at least proven he can keep the fouls down although not the case last year.

That's a big one imo. Noah recruited Lee hard and got us a discount and he'll have built in chemistry with Rose. I don't hate the move, I like it, just a preference for Biyombo. I do think we needed a vocal leader and energy guy too, I've mentioned that before. So I'm not down on the move. But I don't think the fight should be about Noah >>> Biyombo; that's a tough sell unless Noah is back to form he had before the past couple of injury riddled season when he was getting MVP top five votes. A lot of Noah's values are intangibles.

Can I say something else?

Actually, I'm asking.

What does a young team do to help develop a player?

What is is about what Philly is doing that will help out their young players that will help them have a winning mentality and strong fundamentals?

I have yet to understand how, say, Andrew Wiggins would do better developing in Minny (2 years ago) than him developing under the 82 game tutelage of Lebron James.
