There is no way we are giving Noah over half of our remaining dollars when we only have 5 players under contract.

Brilliant move letting those other dudes exercise their opt outs.

Overspending now would be hustling backwards. And not characteristic.

Dope offseason....and its still early.

We only have 5 players under contract! We got a complete makeover.

What a time....:ahh:

I Don't Mind Noah But Not At A Steep Price

It's Funny How The Knicks Even Screw Themselves When They Have The Upper Hand

You Got A Guy Who Wants To Play At Home In NY W A Good Friend Of His Basically Pulling Him Here And U Throw Cash At Him

That Said Lets See How This Plays Out What The Real Numbers Are
Are they sure with 18 million being the amount

I just find it very weird.

Noah agreeing to 18 mill AND also saying he's recruiting for the Knicks?

With what money? If you're taking 18 mill... how does Noah expect to convince a SG to take less than 12?

:martin:

Again... I'm clearly not well versed in exactly how the salary cap works. I understand we can go over the cap... but considering we don't have a bench... I see us breaking the bank in a very unprecedented way to fill out a team.

Being a Knicks fan in a nutshell.
Woke up this morning and the first thing I saw was "Multiple teams interested in Noah say that the Knicks are a lock to land him" and I rejoice because a defensive Center is what we need, plus I'd rather grab Noah at a reasonable tag than Pau or Dwight. :smugbiden:

Five minutes later, I read that it's being reported he's gonna get 18 million per year...:whoa:
That's about 4-5 million more than the figure I was hoping to hear.:snoop:

It's like excitement followed by an instant dose of reality with this team. I'd rather grab Biyombo for less. But then again...this is just a report and negotiations ain't starting till midnight. I'm still praying that we land Noah somewhere from 12.5-15 mil per which I think will be reasonable in this cap era. I'll be okay with that, it's a worthy risk on a guy who fits our needs to a T, loves NY and brings a fire to the locker room that we haven't had for a long time. Not to mention, I think that's a name which will draw other FA's attention...if we have the money to offer them. For now I'ma just hope the reported figure is wrong but that the Noah coming to NYC is right.
