Is all he’s rapping about cocaine/hustling?

Asking seriously, I been a avid Push listener since I first heard him but I ain’t really into that shyt like that anymore. Not saying do a full 180 but damn…he’s like a parody, goofy Rick Ross character at this point.

Talk about the effects the game had on you and how it’s still managed to effect you and your music 20 years later, that’s how traumatic yet exhilarating it was, etc…I’m just spitballing. Even Jay-z switched his pitch. Jeezy too.

That's what is so different about Push as a coke rapper. He raps about the same damn thing but somehow it's different. No every song isn't about coke, but every song has coke in it. He don't really talk like he's moving it right now but he talks about it being moved right now. He does talk about how it affects life having done it in the past but he don't rap it in a past tense.

It really is incredible to think he's been rapping the same topic for 20 years exactly, even on features.. But it hasn't gone stale or gimmicky like Ross has. Even his interviews are really low key. It's not a bunch of coke tales but it's all in the answers he gives

huge Pusha T fan so I’m admittedly biased.

But only in rap do we have the expectation that rappers need multiple topics.

Legends of all other genres talk about “Love” in all of their songs, the way Pusha T talks about coke. They talk about new love, love lost, sustaining love, etc,

Push gives the same thing about the coke game.

If Dolly Parton can have a 50 year career where 95% of her music is about love in one way or the other, why is it frowned upon what Pusha does :manny:

I agree with this.
That’s exactly the reason we have more than one rapper. Option is a beautiful thing

Just getting around to listening to this. I don't know if anyone's mentioned this line from "Just So You Remember", but:

"These drums ain't Timbaland"

^^^that Timpani was actually sampled and if you listen to "Just So You Remember", it has similar drums.

I go to Push for his exact raps. I'm not trying to get introspection or whatever other shyt nikkas is on thecoli typing essays about

not every rapper needs to be an all arounder. sometimes being a specialist is good

:yeshrug:

oh and this shyt hard :ehh:
Exactly. Complaining about this shyt is like getting mad at Klay Thompson for taking jump shots instead of dribbling and passing like LeBron. Mufukka, this is his specialty and he’s one of the best EVER at it. Go somewhere else for the all around shyt.
