I go to Push for his exact raps. I'm not trying to get introspection or whatever other shyt nikkas is on thecoli typing essays about

not every rapper needs to be an all arounder. sometimes being a specialist is good

:yeshrug:

oh and this shyt hard :ehh:

It's as simple as he's delivering a brand and style of rap that basically no one else is doing anymore, much less doing well. Not like 2000-2005 when a bunch of wack wannabe Hovs clogged up the scene

Dudes try to make it way deeper than it is. Sometimes you just want some sinister cocaine cowboy bars set to production that hits. Push has mastered a particularly lean and precise version of this genre where there are no wasted bars and he knows how to craft songs that suit his style and content. Who else consistently making tracks like Open Air or Call My Bluff in 2022?

The idea that Push is a cac-backed tool being used to poison the mind of black audiences would make more sense if his music reached a wider demo or targeted young listeners. His music nowhere near trendy, most his fanbase is 30+ and firmly aware this just entertainment. In 2022 there's a million better examples of this than Pusha T

I been away for a minute but I popped back in to say I adore the album and i'm very proud of my guy.

the hot and cold interest, some of the end results and how he's been received since he went solo had been kind of odd. Up and down and then Daytona sort of broke the ceiling but a lot of the praise especially from publications seemed like they should've had a "paid for by Def Jam" preface before reading

but this, this seems as close to his pure vision for a solo body of work he's done so far and the love and the praise for it seems very genuine.
he has been backed this time around to a success. a great album an enjoyable press run and it resulting in a number one album is pleasing. he deserves it.

and to think, I was initially worried after not liking Diet Coke and him including the song from the Nigo album on here.
