I think the main reason is that the team is so stacked and the defense is so elite, that we've been operating under the idea that all we need at QB is someone that doesn't fukk up and makes some throws on 3rd down to keep drives going.
Given that Purdy did just that, most fans went

Mullens was a the answer at QB no that long ago when he also showed some stuff when he was the back up
I'm with you though, it's waaay more likely for Purdy to hit a wall once teams have tape on him and game plan accordingly. If dude is able to consistently be "OK" and we get 3 or 4 more wins in the next 6-7 weeks it would be a miracle worthy of high recognition, but I ain't expecting a miracle.
