We only need him to manage the game and he did a solid job of that. Being the last pick in the NFL draft doesn't mean anything he worked his way up the food chain. Not saying he'll be elite but he is what one the NFLs 45-50 best QBs.
What?? It means a hell of a lot.. How many even GOOD late round qb's are there? 5th, 6th, 7th round.. Brady and who else?

Worked his way up how? By every other QB on the team being out for the season?

I'm not saying he didn't have a good game. I'm saying the fact that the 49er nation is basically saying "We trust this guy" based on 3 avg quarters of play, is really amazing. Talking bout some IF he messes up, like teams aren't about to gameplan the shyt out of him to make him beat them with his arm.

Nah my faith is not going to allow me to blindly believe that. Manage expectations. Dude will be lucky to win 25% of his starting games

I feel the same way. I have no idea why this you can win a Super Bowl with an average to below average qb mentality comes from. Especially, with all five our the championships we have are from hall of fame qbs that were multiple mvp winners

They just wishing on a star. I have never seen a 3rd string qb take the reigns and the fanbase is like "no problems.. we're good"

it's ok guys.. Soon as Lance went down, this season was a wash.. And here we are

I think the main reason is that the team is so stacked and the defense is so elite, that we've been operating under the idea that all we need at QB is someone that doesn't fukk up and makes some throws on 3rd down to keep drives going.

Given that Purdy did just that, most fans went :whew: thinking dude can consistently do that. Which is not a first for Niners fans, people legit thought Mullens was a the answer at QB no that long ago when he also showed some stuff when he was the back up :heh:

I'm with you though, it's waaay more likely for Purdy to hit a wall once teams have tape on him and game plan accordingly. If dude is able to consistently be "OK" and we get 3 or 4 more wins in the next 6-7 weeks it would be a miracle worthy of high recognition, but I ain't expecting a miracle.

I agree. The run hard offense did work when Kyle had the 1,2 RB punch. He has it now with Mason and CMC.

I think he can manage to get the Niners in the playoffs but I don't see a far playoff run. The only reason why I say this is because it's not enough film on him yet.

You look at Mac Jones. Everyone thought he was great as a rookie. Teams didn't have a full take on how he plays towards the end of the season. That's when you saw his play dropped big time. This season he looks mediocre like I said he would.

I think the Niners are safe these last five games. I don't think Purdy is some super star QB at all. Wouldn't mind being proven wrong but I doubt it

Because people think the 85 Bears and 2000 Ravens is a every year thing.

If our defense was that strong than yes it's possible the Niners have a shot at winning it with Purdy. Niners defense ain't lights out like those SB defenses.

That Canadian fakkit was the biggest one on here talking about Mullens was going to ball out. :mjlol:

If this was like Week three. I'd say no way in hell Purdy has a shot at getting us to the playoffs. Teams would definitely enough film. I believe we have a shot because it's towards the end of the season and the defense is powerful.
