The problem with baker is his bratty behavior on top of his shyt mental game. Baker hasn't shown he can thrive in an environment where he isn't a starter. And he might not be here :manny:

I think Purdy can be the game manager... he easily has better/faster processing and undertanding where to go than Trey or Jimmy.

As long as he doesnt do the pure retard shyt by trying to do waaay too much and understand his own limitation of his arm he can be ok. And not try to think hes Russ or Mahomes

Like dont do this shyt Brock :pachaha:

youre not Mahomes

but as long as he just throws short and dinks and dunks and doesnt make mistakes and converts third downs here and there...he should be fine. Jimmy is way better but thats what Jimmy has been doing mostly too :manny:

He can easily be discarded. The team isn't stuck with him. He's gonna be available pretty cheap and when he was on a better team than Carolina at times he preformed pretty well. The guy has been humbled by life he's getting down to his last shot. I don't see why not bring him in at the very least for a trial.

Probably both. If he was being chill behind the scenes there'd be no way they'd release him for nothing. I haven't looked, but I bet money he asked for it because he thinks he's better than Darnold and PJ when he ain't earned it.
I never wanted him in the first place. But the Niners have a hella positive locker room. Don't need some trash ass QB ruining it.

I can 100% see those INTs happening when we get behind late in games :russ:

I get the "if he just does the most simple shyt and doesn't fukk it up we can win" mentality. That's what we asked of Jimmy once we figured out his limitations. But I'm not gonna pretend a barely drafted rookie can keep that kind of composure every game and most important, when it matters most. It kinda comes with the territory of a player like him to fukk up :manny:

Usual case of the unknown being far more attractive than the known. Purdy COULD be pretty good when asked to to let the talent around him do most of the heavy lifting.

Baker Mayfield has multiple seasons to suggest he has a low ceiling in that type of situation (relative to talent around him), and the Panthers stint showed he's both still not great in that situation, and incapable of being the QB that carries the team.
Niners wouldn't need him to lead the team. He'd be coming in as a backup. Everybody would be clear on that. There would be no illusion of him competing to start. Furthermore, I think Baker would relish the opportunity to be on a playoff team playing meaningful football. He'd gladly shut the fukk up and hold the clipboard.

I think in that situation it would be fine. Like somebody else said, we're into 3rd and 4th string quarterback territory here. I guess it doesn't matter at this point.

Would he, though?
