I agree with pretty much all of that. What doesn’t make sense to me is the expectations going down now. If anything they should go up. Trey is way more talented then Jimmy G but right now Jimmy is the better QB. Extreme short term we’re actually better imo but with a veteran QB coming off two deep playoff runs that should be, as one of our friends likes to say, the floor. Whereas with Trey I was cutting him some slack because he’s his first year starting.

Bunch of straw man arguments in here. I never said Jimmy was trash or should be cut. He should’ve been cut imo because I didn’t think it was best for Trey to have him looking over his shoulder, not because Jimmy was trash.

The reason Trey was drafted is because he projects to be a fukking stud at his peak. Why are you acting all shocked that people think a ten year vet is better then a 22 year old with 3 starts. With some seasoning and reps under his belt Trey should far surpass Jimmy but right now??? Jimmy’s just better imo.

The play calling for Trey, should be the exact play calling for Jimmy. They way Trey is handled is very irresponsible. You can't get a solid take on a guy who isn't be put in the best position to showcase his skills. Trey looks like Daunte Culpepper when he runs. Too big to be doing that shyt and he ain't fast like Lamar, Vick and shyt even Josh Allen to be running like that. He's a QB that runs when nobody is open.

We should have moved on from Jimmy because he was limited as hell and we'd seen his ceiling, and more importantly because we spent an arm and a leg on his upgrade.

Lamar was a "project". Allen was a "project". In their second seasons neither of those guys had people saying the team would be better if their almost-cut backup was starting instead. Even if you're considered a "project" QB, if you're drafted to be the franchise guy - and Trey was drafted higher than either of those guys - then yeah it is shocking if your backup vet QB is giving the team more optimism than you are. Start of this season NO ONE other than the biggest Jimmy nuthuggers was saying Jimmy gives us a better chance to win than Trey.

Can you name one stud QB who took 3 years to be ready to ball? Rodgers and Young were playing behind 2 first ballot HOFers. Kirk Cousins is the only current starting QB I can think of who wasn't considered the best QB on the team by year 2, and he was a 4th round pick.
