Since you're PSU alum then maybe you can answer this question. What's the culture like in that school that makes them so devoted to the idea that JoePa is without fault?

Any school with an institutional person like that has that culture. If bo schembecler had never left michigan, he would be as reveared to them as osu is to joepa. Same with dean smith, john wooden, woody hayes, etc. He just never left. Its the fact that most people associated with penn state grew up learning about the legend of penn state and joe pa, then joined it, and he never left...to them, he was literally a living legend, and it is tough to break that connection.

Bobby Bowden to his credit has been pretty consistent on his disapproval of how Paterno handled the situation. He was on Lebatard last year and surprised me, this was before Paterno even died.

As a member of the PSU family as a student this breaks my heart. But, the 76,000 students, 500,000+ alumni and 30,000 employees should not be tarred and feathered by the actions of a few. I think the best thing is to remove all of the old, and start fresh and new. I am still a proud PSU family member. Paterno...I'm appalled and I feel betrayed. President Spaner...fukk him. He should've been fired over the PSU Racism issue in 2001 anyway.

Any of those members who defend Paterno or the actions of those kids that rioted when he was fired deserve what's coming.

Nobody here defended the rioters. People seem to forget the rioters were a few hundred out of 40,000 that go to the main campus. People forget about the 10,000 students that held a candlelight vigil for justice to be done for the abuse victims.
