I'm not immediately throwing Joe in the bushes..it really is a shame he cant even speak on behalf of himself for all this. The statue should go, probably his name on the library too.

The biggest villains remain Schultz and Sandusky, wayyyy worse than Joe, but still...Joe is at fault. It's time to move on. I loved growing up with him as an idol, but if he really knew about 1998...man....I don't even...

You're insane, INSANE, if you think Schultz had more power in the university than Joe did. If Joe wanted something to happen then it happened regardless of what Schultz or anyone else in the state wanted. That's the truth.

Reading those boards is INFURIATING. Folks are in there saying, "he made mistakes" or "he's still a better man than me".....HE HID A CHILD RAPIST FOR A DECADE AND A fukkING HALF!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no moving on from that. That's evil on the HIGHEST level just short of doing it himself.

SERIOUSlYLy!!!!!!!!!!! Come the fukk on!

edit: I'm staying outta this thread for the rest of the day or my laptop's gonna get thrown.

As a member of the PSU family as a student this breaks my heart. But, the 76,000 students, 500,000+ alumni and 30,000 employees should not be tarred and feathered by the actions of a few. I think the best thing is to remove all of the old, and start fresh and new. I am still a proud PSU family member. Paterno...I'm appalled and I feel betrayed. President Spaner...fukk him. He should've been fired over the PSU Racism issue in 2001 anyway.

Your school should lose accreditation. Sorry, but it's true.

How can anyone trust a degree coming from a school whose President and BoT allowed child molesting and raping, and covered it up?

Look, I've been workin in a courtroom all day covering a murder trial when I wanna be reading through that report and listening to radio/ESPN/reading news, so im basing everything I say off tweets I've read. Apparently, there is still no HARD-SET evidence of Joe's involvement because the emails don't single him out or somethin. I don't know. Haven't heard enough yet.

And to my knowledge he couldn't speak because of ongoing investigations.

One last wish in this thread, give the Paterno family a few weeks to back up JoePa. That's pretty much the last shot I'm giving in defense of him.

But I'll heed yall advice and get outta here

Are these people retarded?

Knowing that your coach raped and molested a child in 1998 and then in 2001 doesn't make him complicit in someway?

The crazy thing is... This report isn't even the bad one

There are more sinister facts that have yet to be released

Just wait until the people that aren't beholden to the board are done investigating

This report is like if the republican party investigated watergate... Only half the story

I am a member of the penn state family and I say the hell with the whole institution until every member of the board is replaced

You think it's a coincidence that Sandusky "retired" after that investigation?

Since you're PSU alum then maybe you can answer this question. What's the culture like in that school that makes them so devoted to the idea that JoePa is without fault?

It's the insular/scientology-esque/idol worshipping that permeates throughout the institution that lead to the cover up. As long a folks are still trying to downplay Joe's role in the whole thing y'all will continue to be tarred and feathered.

Not an alum

I'm the son of psu faculty

The culture is a bunch of boring ass white people with nothing to do but drink and worship the football team. Joepa had been there so long that he was elevated to god status, why people can't accept the facts now is beyond me. Psu people take school pride too seriously, they put it ahead of morality. I've always said state college reminds me of a fascist state and this just proves it.
