they really needed halo at launch to turn shyt around. While the ps5 didn't release with any MONSTER must have titles, since spider-man could be had on ps4 and demons souls while a REALLY good remake is still mostly the same as the ps3 version, the ps4 released at least 3 blockbuster titles this year already so the hype was already in place for sony. It was microsoft that had more to prove and they dropped the ball having a head start with marketing, once again. They revealed their console and some games LAST year and sitll didn't release with anything.

they needed HALO and they needed it to look as good as it'll prob end up looking by the end of NEXT year and by then they are already playing a game of catch up again with sony releasing a bunch of exclusives this year.

don't let the juelz facts get in the way of the core fact that it sold less than than the XB1. All the juelzin in the world ain't changing that. Selling less in the one area that carries you is not a good sign.

not really, the stock of the ps5 is still super limited while everyone who wants to get their kid a switch for christmas can do so easily. Not only that but nintendo hit a lick with this, because you can own multiple switches per household, a lot of people do. If oyu buy a playstation odds are you probably aren't gonna buy another one, maybe an xbox or switch, or a mid gen refresh/upgrade, but never two of the same console. I know people that lived in a household of 4, and got 4 switches. They still selling them at 300 dollars and the games rarely drop in price. Im pretty sure breath of the wild is still 60 dollars.

they were smart and had the inventory to meet the demand...my surprise is that there’s still that much demand for a switch...if sony had enough product to meet the demand I’m imagining the switch wouldn’t have outsold the PS5

Switch has run 2020. A lot of very casual gamers stuck at home getting back into Mario/Mario Kart etc. Animal Crossing was basically the official game of quarantine. Everyone I know has one now
