I had a gamecube, ps2 and a xbox. I also had a 360, wii and a ps3. Also had a dreamcast.


Xbox one has weak hardware, terrible first party support and its the most expensive system.


Why would anybody buy an xbox one? Its over priced and under performing. Why would anybody buy a multi plat on a system that runs it worse and for more money?

That's a negotiable difference. The PS4 isn't killing the Xbox One in terms of sales. Is it selling more? yeah but is that amount substantial? no. If your arguments are true and the Xbox One is such garbage in comparison then why are the sales of both systems so close? There's nothing wrong with the games on the Xbox One. Maybe the lineup isn't for you but the rest of the general population doesn't seem to share that sentiment.

I don't necessarily disagree with all your stances. I still think if you're buying one of these systems only the PS4 is the better buy but I also believe when all is factored in it isn't that much better than the Xbox One to the point where you'd be crazy to buy an Xbox One over it. I'm primarily a Playstation gamer. I've never really been a Microsoft guy and I'm still not but the Xbox has games I wanna play on it and I'm not gonna pretend like it doesn't or exaggerate the quality of its titles to rationalize it not being worth the purchase. I simply like to play good games. Doesn't matter what platform they drop on.

If the generation ended and the numbers were under 500K apart that's basically a tie. It being sold out for months means nothing because right now you can walk in any store and have either to purchase and the numbers are under 500K apart for the year.

The generation just started...you are grasping at straws here.

6 months...500K lead. That is substantial given the fact that PS4 has all the momentum and had a short time there in where it was impossible to pick one up. You also have to account for how the consoles are doing worldwide, but lets conveniently leave that out for this discussion.

Microsoft's strategy should be to focus on the U.S. hard because thats the only place in where they can hopefully keep up. Europe and Japan are lost causes, but the problem is that when the numbers start to dwarf the competition...exclusives come easier on the dominant platform.

Worldwide the Xbox One isn't in available in anywhere near the same amount of countries as the PS4. The PS4 is in closer to 50 countries and the Xbox One is in closer to 15. Last generation if you factor in all things the Xbox vs PS was a wash. We're talking about 170 or so million sold between both of them and a difference of maybe under 5 million. Meaning that while you may feel the PS is superior there are damn near as many people that disagree with you than that do if you look at the global marketplace.

This isn't like when the PS2 went on to sell 155 million units and the Xbox sold like 22 or so million. That's a clear victory this stuff going on now is negligible differences fanboys blow up because the differences are negligible.

the keeping pace argument is PS4 = 1,577,000 XB1 = 1,101,000 YTD in the US

So they make the changes they need to make to maximize their sales because the outcome of this generation has yet to be determined and the majority of buyers haven't entered the market. I get that you're a Sony guy and you wanna play up the story that Microsoft is getting slaughtered but PS2 era 100+ million more than the competition is slaughter. when the difference is a couple million apart that's not even worth mentioning and because its so early in what we're seeing now doesn't mean much as long as Microsoft can stay with in striking distance which they are.
