What exactly are you saying about the RAM? Do you really think that SONY out of all companies is going to throw everything on the PS4 in which would make prices skyrocket on their end and keep it under $500 at retail? How delusional are you cats? Do you know how much 4GB of GDDR5 memory costs?
You guys also have to consider storage and the possibility that sony and microsoft are probably going to have to go with Hybrid drives to support the growing need for storage space AND speed...that is not cheap either. Why won't you geniuses break this all down for me and come up with something that makes sense for about $500-$700 (We assume both will take a hit at the start)
its not confusing at all. GDDR5 is for the gpu, DDR3 is for the ram. If you somehow believe that the ps4 is going to use gddr5 as system ram then you are more delusional than loose who wants to play CLASSIC disc based exclusives like "The Outfit" on his 720. Honestly can we think about this for a second? If the PS3 (which will probably need anywhere from 6-8GB) uses GDDR5 as system standard RAM the damn thing will probably cost about $2,000 to put together because now at this point you are looking at absolutely everything built from the very ground up. This doesn't mean modifications and closure to current technologies, but brand new shyt that is not even available to high bleeding edge PC or Macs. The biggest difference will be in the allocation of it all, I will be able to break it down a bit further once final specs are released.
A little history -
I knew the XBOX 360 would have the overheating issues upon launch just due to the history of the powerpc line...you guys are talking all this bs without really knowing what it all means AND without knowing final specs.

There isn't any Sony soul in this console. Nothing like the emotion engine, Cell or anything with a Sony imprint on it. It follows the Vita with good-great capabilities so that profit could be made.

Microsoft doesn't put out cheap hardware. There isn't going to be money to be made on these as they will be selling for a loss. How big of one, I don't know. However, I expect to be more impressed with Microsoft's console because I expect them to spend more on it.

They can and they should....if they don't...major failure. They have to capitalize off that advantage as much as possible. Ps2 DOMINATED....they let up on ps3 because they felt comfortable and arrogant...lost that step they had on the game. The box has to beast on that hardware. I already known they will beast on the Xbox live.
Sony needs to make their console affordable and CHARGE FOR ONLINE PLAY so they can beef up the hardware and make up for it with their online service. That's what I would do...its not like Sony fans are going to boycott and go to the other system doing the same thing.
I know somebody is going to say they would go to PC....but people that already went didn't go because they don't charge for online...its just different.

If I was Microsoft...I'd release the system at 299...and a elite joint for 349.99 that has kinnect 2 bundled.
PS4 I'd release at $300 and charge 39.99 a year for online (cheaper than official year pass for Xbox yet still making money to cover their losses)

They have the 2 options which is perfect for gamers, PS+ and PSN free...I'm not losing sleep over not being able to cross-game chat. The LAST thing they need to do is to put up a wall and say you can't use any of the features unless you pay like M$. That would be taking a huge step backwards and risk losing a large majority of their fanbase.
The PS4 should release for $699.99 while the 360 goes for $399 again. That way consumers will see a higher price point and instantly recognize brute force under the hood of the PS4. Sony needs to pull out the big cards this gen and go crazy with specs. I'm talking 1080p/60 FPS on ALL GAMES with optional 4K support. GTX 680 like performance will make gamers go
