They have the 2 options which is perfect for gamers, PS+ and PSN free...I'm not losing sleep over not being able to cross-game chat. The LAST thing they need to do is to put up a wall and say you can't use any of the features unless you pay like M$. That would be taking a huge step backwards and risk losing a large majority of their fanbase.

Now what that means is they can't stop ppl from creating glitches and running rampart in any online game.
Things like being invincible is an all day reality that plenty of bored "kids" have been taking advantage of for years.

But here's the insane part. Sony hasn't been doing shyt about it all along.
All they stopped was the running hacked gaming code on PSN, and that was only for a few months
Even without hacked gaming codes, just normal glitches are left unfixed. And in most cases, nothing cam be done because of how Sony runs PSN. Developers have complained about it

The reason nothing gets fixed is because it cost too much for dev's to constantly monitor and fix server issues, something they have to handle themselves on ps3
On Xbox, Microsoft handles all that because we pay for that service.
PSN gets a bullshyt update from time to time and now ps3 fanboys act like its the same thing, or that anything is even being done.
I can pull up article after article of ANY PS3 EXCLUSIVE to show you how this problem has effected almost every single ps3 title and most gamers didn't even realize it.
I've posted proof now, why ignore it?

While that has happened as well, what I'm talking about is mostly glitches since they don't get fixed either. But a hacker can modify code from the disc, then when you play online you'll have abilities other gamers won't. One example is invincibility, but the possibilities are endless. When a person does this, YOU wouldnt even notice it. Why would you?
You'll just say to yourself "man, that's gullshyt.. I had em" or the equally typical ps3 response of "eh.. It's the lag "

Now while cheating on that scale can't be stopped at all anymore on PSN. The reason it's not even an issue is because Sony never stopped cheaters from glitching in any of there TOP GAMES in the first place. Same glitches that worked in say, Uncharted 2 3yrs ago still work today, Infinity ward declared MW2 on ps3 unplayable because of how sonys PSN is structured.

The PS4 should release for $699.99 while the 360 goes for $399 again. That way consumers will see a higher price point and instantly recognize brute force under the hood of the PS4. Sony needs to pull out the big cards this gen and go crazy with specs. I'm talking 1080p/60 FPS on ALL GAMES with optional 4K support. GTX 680 like performance will make gamers go while the other party is content with prosaic visuals from last gen.

Sony needs to make up for losses. Do you want them to put out weaker hardware than the Xbox? That's what's going to happen if they try to match prices with the Xbox
