damn, so this is real.

the floodgates of fukkery and whackness are about to fully open and engulf rap/hip-hop.

we just lost a pillar of keeping shyt 100.

Yall lookin at it from a music standpoint. i been down all day looking at it from a real world man standpoint... The real nikkaz, real men...the men that are True Alphas. Not fake macho tough guys... the real dudes who grew up in jim crow, then the ones who grew up in the crack epidemic... they are dinosaurs,.. a breed that is becoming extinct. all that is gonna be left is the homo thugs. This is the End, word to everything I luv
Same shyt I'm thinking. Terrible day for hip hop. P's death signals the end of REAL nikka HIP-HOP and the beginning of fukkboy fakkit raps gaining a strong hold in the game. I felt the energy of hip-hop sway once I found out, just like you two, so that means there of Thousands maybe even millions more who realize what this means for hip-hop.

That's a legit fear that I have of Prodigy passing. Now we going to have safe corporate drones and clowns fully running amok in rap and no one to stand up against fukkery.

nikkas felt that shyt like they felt a Jedi dying in the force.

How do you guys feel a couple years removed?

I seen this thread upped and thought some new info was revealed or something. I read the quotes and agree with em. I don't know if I would have agreed at the time of his death that his loss would impact "real nikka rap" but.. I would have been mistaken. No bullshyt I'm bout to put on.. fukk that, let me post what I'm about to blast in my apartment...

Damn... great question.
Obviously the feeling of despair was way heavy back when he 1st passed...
But looking back on my comment now.. and how I feel now...
The passing of nikkaz like him and the fading away of dudes like myself and guys I grew up with... wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.. if it wasnt for the fact that soft, sweet, nikkaz with no principles are the norm now...
It's not like my generation and the guys that gave my generation knowledge were the greatest ppl of all time... they weren't.
But at least they still stood solid on principles... right or wrong.
Everytime one of these guys die... it's just a constant reminder of the inevitable transition

Same way I always did. I'm 24, so Prodigy isn't really my generation. But being part of the gaming community, his death also coincided with several older members leaving my scene. Like P himself, his death just signifies the inevitable transition thats been happening in rap. Like someone said here, if the new age of rappers wasn't so weak, spineless and wack, it would be completely fine. But right now? rap to me looks like the last few episodes of sopranos. All the competent workers are gone and diseased, or in jail, and all we left with is rats and knuckleheads.

No offense to Nip. I fukked with him on a personal level and he seemed like a good dude but imo Prodigy's death should have garnered the attention his did this week.

It's weird how popularity works. But it's possible I'm just old and out of the loop. It's also possible that the way he died played a part in the reaction. Eazy E was as important as Tupac was but dying from aids isn't as iconic as dying in a hail of gunfire

Where’s the music at, did we only get two verses since he passed? The Sean price feature and I can’t even remember the other leaked track.

Yeah I think its the fact he from the 90s generation and an older head that died natural cause. I was only 25 when he passed but I had been listening to him since I was 11/12 so it hurt me badly but most people my age didn't really realise who he was or the impact. I saw a few people post shook ones clip and that was it, they dont really know the depth of his career and impact. Where as Nipsey was commerical with it, everybody following hip hop prob knew nipsey.

Agreed. Also, he had real fans over the years and not overnight fans hopping on the bandwagon after his death.
