This seems like the new way to provide extra content to games , which very few are able to pull off successfully.

I think BloodBorne is the only one that does it right with their dungeons , and yet I wouldn't consider them 100% procedurally generated.

No Man Sky does it correctly as well , but then you have Starfield where one of the main selling points are about hundreds of planets that are
procedurally generated and due to that , most of them are boring.

There's a major difference in quality between a hand-crafted planet and one that's procedurally generated.

There's hella handmade, thoughtful worlds filled with unique content in Starfield. If they pulled out every last procedurally generated world, you'd still be left with an amazing game boasting hundreds of hours worth of content. There's plenty of things you could shyt on this game for; this ain't it chief.

Your should've put this in the cope thread, you would've have gotten more daps :mjlol:

Seriously, do any of you play NMS? I have over 130 hours logged and guarantee you the procedural generation is a non factor in why we continue to play the game. Procedural generation can add to a sandbox game, to give it a seemingly large scale, but it should never be the selling point. NMS failed its first few years because there was nothing to do but large on PG world to see PG trees, rocks and animals.

Elder Scrolls Daggerfall back in 96 had PG and is one of the greatest ES games and by far the largest. It could have been made with PG but the game would have been smaller in scale. Same for starfield, take out PG and its still the same game. Take PG out of release day NMS and you still have nothing.

And why this sub forum is trash. There is a legit conversation to be had about game design and the value of procedurally generated worlds, but Stan Wars™ ruins any genuine conversation.
Watch it. Those stans are going to start bytching about you bringing it up. Couldn’t even get one comment into the thread without one derailing it.
