Rugby culture in this country is centered around Cali bruh

This. I know too many people that played Rugby or currently are in College including a homegirl of mine that played at Chico State. I'm not much of a fan but I respect the sport because not many people can do it , including football players.

It's played at the high schools in my area and it's growing. One high school won multiple national championships and a big 7s tournament is held in Vegas every winter.

Sacramento is getting a team and I already know that they'll draw .

As one of the former college football bruhs that was on the cusp of making an NFL roster, but could never quite get through, that then switched to rugby, I think this league sounds appealing, but ultimately will fail. Like other posters have said, there just isn't a big enough following to generate enough revenue to sustain a league.

USA Rugby missed a big promotional opportunity by not making the Rugby World Cup more accessible in the states. The only pool games you could see in the states is when the Eagles were playing, and who really wants to watch that ish :scust:?

7s will be in the Olympics next year and the US could do decent in that. But I dont see a scenario where 15s will appeal to people unfamiliar with the sport. Theyd do better to just televise or at the very least stream games of the top clubs like Seattle, Glendale, Life University etc and see how that works before attempting a real pro league. The league will mostly consists of players from those clubs anyway.

Also, the US will never be able to really compete internationally until EVERYBODY starts playing rugby. Right now it's mostly know-it-all white boys, and islanders that wouldn't have a shot in their home country playing. Furthermore, a lot of melanin-deficient people are trying to just get rich off youth rugby and making it inaccessible to the lower/ working class. Why sign up your kid to play youth rugby for $500, when you can drive down the street and sign them up to play football for $150? Once some of these blackletes pick the game up as youths, and develop their skill in rugby is when we'll be able to compete for real. Imagine a Leonard Fournette at 13, or a LeBron James playing the 8.:banderas:
Fournette at 12 just running crash ball all day :mjcry:
