A former middle school principal in North Carolina is accused of sexually assaulting a student while the boy's unsuspecting parent was outside the room.
David Ellis Edwards, 49, was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree forcible sex offense, sexual acts with a student, taking indecent liberties with a minor and crimes against nature, WTVD reported.
Deputies say that between 2009 and 2011, Edwards molested at least three boys between the ages of 11 and 14. At least one of the incidents allegedly occurred in Edward's office while the victim's parent sat in a nearby waiting area.
Edwards resigned from his position at Douglas Byrd Middle School, where he had been principal since 2010, in August, WNCN reported. Before that, he was principal of Ramsey Street Alternative School. Officials believe that all of the sexual assaults took place on the campuses of these two schools.
Authorities have also noted they "believe there were more than the three victims," sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Tanna told the Fayetteville Observer.
The school system has said that when Edwards resigned, they were unaware there was a pending investigation. He claimed he was leaving for educational opportunities, according to WTVD.
Notice the article never mentions rape bc the children allowed it to happen. smh

The age of consent is 16 or 18 in the US. The kid's 14. It's rape. WTF is a 50 yr old man doing with someone who is 14? That shyt is disgusting.

we're talking about north carolina. plus the US. our children aren't all soldiers. stop trying to imply that this boy wanted this to happen to him. if that comes out in court, ok but. we're not all hard at age 14. he couldn't have been sheltered...he couldn't have been...oh...i dunno...an innocent child. the fact that we even have to discuss this says something about our society. he was raped. Man, the fact of the matter is that this dude deserves to be locked up for these disgusting acts he committed against these children...especially considering using his position to capitalize on his sickness. However, don't exaggerate my post into saying that my rationale is that I was 
status at 14 years old and that the kid should have drop kicked the pedophile through a window. Its clearly disgusting what he did to those kids, and no I'm not expecting them to take any blame for what happened to them. However, with that said, its still odd to me that simply screaming for help from his parents wasn't a viable option for him. You nor I can answer why he didn't so miss me with the pedophile sympathy categorization.
fair enough, but most nikkas aren't saying that. i actually see where some people are coming from but i'm just pointing out the fact that a lot of people are willing to point at the victim first. and i'll stop exaggerating when you address this issue like it was more than one child. i know you can read so act like it. even if one of those kids wanted it, it was still illegal and i can guarantee that most of them didn't. y'all really don't have an argument but i don't mind entertaining it. i think this is interesting.

You don't know the circumstances. We can all speculate on how we would act if we were in this situation, but we're not...so you can't speculate. I'm sure the kid was threatened in some way...maybe this happened before...where he touched the kid and the principal threatened to tell his parents that he's "gay." Sexual predators don't only physically abuse, but mentally abuse. He is a Principal of a school. Maybe the parents were in the other room because he called them in to tell them something bad their son had done...and think about it, if the Principal of a school is telling you your kid did this and that, a lot of parents wouldn't believe the kid if he denied it...they'd believe the adult authority.

Fair enough...it was in the back of my mind. The stigma that comes with threats from that old piece of shyt would definitely have an impact..but you're speculating as well

He could have said "I'll tell your parents I caught you selling drugs, doing drugs, fukking another male student, blah blah" who knows! He has power and authority and abused it. At 14, I'm sure the kid was scared that his parents wouldn't believe him if he denied it.
