It's easier than saying "2d action-adventure game focused on exploration and backtracking"

Souls-like refers to a specific type of combat and progression, instead of just saying "Action game with RPG elements focused on parrying and dodgerolls with punishment for dying" lol

Cranked up the leak, played for like 2 hours or so.

It's fun but it hasn't done anything at all so far that makes me feel like this is anything but an ok metroidvania. If you don't play the genre often you might think this is amazing but this is very standard.

You bugging a bit here. I play all these shyts and a lot of them are fairly average to bleh…this is very high quality for the genre, on the level of dread, even better cause it has a solid story and its double the length.

Presentation so far is definitely above the standard fair of the genre. Combat is already very impressive from the onset.

That said, 50 is a lil steep for the genre, but Dread was 60 (wasn't it) so....

This is a solid metroidvania. Above average.

But nothing here is reinventing the wheel.
