Wasnt the ps3 like $600 at lauch.thats the main reason why alot of people even gave the 360 a chance was because the ps3 was so much

I doubt the ps4 is any lower then $550 at launch and I wouldn't at all be surprised if they have $600 and $700 systems at launch

im betting that sony has learned some lessons. judging by the decisions to dump the cell processor and load it with high bandwidth ram, it seems that they are addressing specific PS3 problems.

i wonder why consoles haven't put in an operating system yet and claim it can be used for productivity as well as gaming...you can angle it by telling parents little johnny can do his term paper on the Cold War in between playing black ops

Probably to avoid outside shyt like viruses putting in work and hacking the OS, putting Xbox Live at risk.

I wonder the reverse, tho. Like, why ain't Microsoft come out with an Xbox software edition to run on any Windows pc.

it would cut into xbox sales and it would be hacked to be able to play any xbox game on any pc...also anyone with a pc strong enough to play xbox games would just buy the pc version anyway

the viruses is the concern and i guess with an operating system it means it can be also hacked to pirate games i would imagine...i'm sure they have thought about it but the cons have outweighed the pros in their eyes

It's too easy to pirate on the PC
