Question. How does Sony benefit by not making profit and selling it for less than it cost to produce?

I already got my shoebox Lay-a-way going on 
it will be reasonable at launch considering what a computer that can do the equivalent would cost.

Console makers always lose money on the console but they make up for it with software and perphrials.

Most if not all companies will take a hit with consoles and make it up on the back end. I believe the Wii was the only profitable console this gen.

Nintendo usually makes profits on everything. i think the Wii U and 3DS both defy that but usually they profit on everything. Nintendo's problem became they started going up against companies that could afford to lose billions on hardware.

I get gaming systems to play original games. Somehow, Sony brainwashed dumb nikkas to overcharge their consoles and justify it as "elite gaming"
That is the reason why M$ can take half of the potential PS3 users. Going from 150 million users with the PS2 to less than 70 with the PS3 in the same time frame? M$ and their poorly built console fought the once-invincible Playstation brand to a standstill.The PS4 will have much more "original" or as I like to call them exclusive games than the xbox 365That. i still think in a fair fight (consoles about the same price and release dates the same timespan) Sony would come out ahead of Microsoft. Microsoft's lead on Sony the entire generation never really exceeded the number of consoles they sold that first year without Sony on the market. that's despite the fact that they heavily outsold the PS3 in the US.That. the xbox fanboys on this site are delusional. You are not really trying to talk to them with logic behind it are you?
I ain't even a stan, but Sony has a few flaws that will vitally kill them in the long run, like the pricing issue and their competition. They still think that it is the PS2 era where they can automatically come out ahead just cause of the "Playstation" brand.
