I mean I get it, the US being able to sanction you into the stone age on a whim is terrifying but you ain’t fooling anyone important or with a modicum of intelligence

The US supported Pol Pot and the Khmer regime bringing them to power, providing aid, and even recognized them as the legitimate govt after they retreated and were exiled to Thailand. Khmer Rouge was toppled by north Vietnamese army following the fall of Saigon. China retaliated by invading Vietnam at behest of their ally and to divert NVA military strength out of Cambodia. The us voted for the regime up until 1993 to keep a seat at the UN.

It all seems like a joke until they start trading petroleum and petroleum products amongst themselves using this currency. 4 of the BRICS countries are in the top 25 of proven oil reserves globally. 3 are in the top 10 nations in terms of oil production. If they start trading oil and other commodities (thereby reducing demand for dollars) in this currency instead of the greenback, do you really think it won't have an impact on the dollar value?
