This is why competition matters. Notice the US isn’t included in that list. Sony mostly picked places where they dominant and the Xbox isn’t a threat but they know if they raise prices in the US then Microsoft will use it as an opportunity to eat into their market share.

I think its more that USD is still considered the world currency and currency exchange rates add up over time.

The Playstation brand isn’t dominant over Xbox Series in a region like Canada for example.

Also, something similar happened to Canada with the PS4. It launched at price parity with the US version due to a strong dollar but then around a year or so after launch the price went up because the Canadian dollar fell.

damn. That’s tough. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before.

Notice they ain’t increase in the us tho :mjpls:

The pound was at 1.39 last year this time. Now it is at 1.18. Latin America pays out the ass for electronics, no surprise there.

American dollar is consistent, it is not going to move as the measure for all dollars worldwide.

Or their distributors in those areas have requested it. Happens more than you think. Been in the Supply Chain/Logistics industry for over 20 years fam, there's a lot of shyt behind the scenes that can be real :leostare:

Also, like others have said, the value of their currency has shrunk in comparison to the USD. Probably the biggest reason.

As of today, 1 USD= 5.13 Brazilian Dollars

In April 1 USD = 4.7 Brazilian Dollars

10% increase in 4 months.

That's what's going on. Value of their money is tanking.
