I can tell some of yall in here dont really KNOW boxing.
First of all, the logic that "Floyd dominated JMM, so imagine what he would do to Manny" is stupid. Flat out. If that's the case, and that train of thought ever held true, what happened in the Ali vs Foreman vs Frazier triangle? Frazier was giving it to Ali, got MURDERED by Foreman, and with the stupid logic some if you are using, that would've meant that Foreman didnt need to fight Ali then right, because he made "easy work" of a guy that Ali had trouble with? What happened though when Foreman took the fight with Ali?
There are countless examples of this, so where is this whole "Floyd beat up JMM easily, imagine what he would do to Manny" rhetoric coming from.
And lastly, I cant remember the poster, why do you keep saying Floyd fought Cotto in Cotto's style? That was NOT Cotto's style. He is not a "bully fighter", which is how he tried to fight Floyd. Cotto was using De La Hoya's/Juan Castillo's fight plan against Floyd to try and win, because he KNEW he couldn't out box Floyd. Cotto IS a boxer not a brawler....he tried to brawl with Floyd and didnt get dominated at all (losing 7 rounds to 5 isnt domination).
Manny dominated Cotto easily and made light work of him, just as he did Ricky Hatton, and De La Hoya (all of whom it took Floyd longer to beat) and he also gave Margarito (who Floyd ducked) the worst beating Margarito has ever had in a boxing match and basically ended his career. Does that mean Manny is/was better? NO. It means styles makes fights, so no one fight shouldn't be used as a barometer of all things boxing or "who would beat who" in a boxing match.
Each fight is different.
