Pressure the gov. of the Dominican Republic to stop its planned "cleaning" of 250k black Dominicans

DR's constitution is guiding law. BUT international human rights laws have jurisdiction and trump the DR's constitution.

Okay. So which international law is being violated? Who enforces them? The UN? What are they saying about this?

Here's what I've found...

It is of the utmost importance, Mr. Edwards emphasized, that the Dominican Republic takes necessary action to prevent any expulsions of stateless Dominicans and to avoid creating a new refugee situation. In this regard, UNHCR has offered its support to the Dominican authorities to identify and register these individuals.

While the Dominican authorities have announced that they will conduct screenings of all individuals subject to deportation, UNHCR has recommended that for people who claim to be Dominican but do not have the required documents, the authorities can use other screening approaches, such as knowledge of Spanish – “in order to allow a reasonable determination of whether people are likely to have been born and lived all their lives in the Dominican Republic,” the spokesperson added.

That's the criteria that the DR government set up for itself to use anyway. Looks like they're in agreement. All we have to do now is continue to monitor the execution.

If all of you lived on one island, with nothing else around you, you really think no one mixed, and mingled with each other for hundreds of years, and walking across each country is easy as hell since their are no tight boarders?

I think you are confusing skin tone with racial origin. More Dominicans may be lighter then Haitians because more of them mixed with each other, and we know how color struck the country was. Therefore most Haitians stuck to themselves, BUT because you all have the same genes, some Dominicans still come out dark, but for Haitians it isn't like that because dark skin tends to be the most dominant when mixed with light skin, especially in a hot place like D.R.

Basically, you both are related, one just looks more lighter or have more European phenotypes then the other because one has European in their blood, and the other has less. That doesn't mean you arent related, just not exactly the same, but still related nonetheless. You all come from the same slave stock when the slave boats came to the island.

Watching this is scary. When she went to the detention camp, and couldn't film, that kind of showed me how slavery was done. If the people in the camps are stateless, that means corrupt people could sell them off as slaves, and no one will know because they technically don't exist, since they have no proof they were born to a country. I hope no shyt like this is happening, but it showed me how they got us, and being that there were no cameras back then, they were able to do anything they wanted.

Damn, D.R. is wrong for even putting people in a situation where some foul people can easily put them into the global slave trade. shyt is fukked up.
