Who do I hate?
You've clearly got skin in the game no pun intended. That's ugly, man. Whatever do you.

I guess taking a position contrary to yours is having skin in the game. Carry on.
Putting the cape on for a blatantly racist process hiding behind the guise of nationalism? Yeah, I'd say that's skin in the game.
Let the DR do what they gon do. It's not like they're committing some huge atrocities.
act as if the dominican republic was a country with an efficiently functioning non-racist bureaucracy and a police force devoid of any form of corruption hermanettes.Yes! If their paperwork I straight I have a hard time to believe that they neglected to their kids!
Also if you are going to school, working, own a house etc cause you have ties with the country

Do ur parents have to be citizens to become one?The country of Haiti does not grant you citizenship simply by being born there.
The Dominican Republic does not grant you citizenship simply by being born there.
The outrage in this thread is phony. These are standard laws all over the world
Do ur parents have to be citizens to become one?
Xenophobic, maybe. But not racist.
But I just don't see what's wrong with the process exactly. Why can't the DR have strong immigration policy? The Bahamas does. The US does. Most European countries do.
Documentation is necessary.
What are you talking about? Most Dominicans are black people in color.
This is about immigration, not race.
So Haiti can change their law but the DR can't?
They don't have to be stateless. Haiti can play a role in helping them get their necessary documents to apply for citizenship or visas
I'm not black, I'm Colombian.
I'm not black, I'm Haitian.
I'm not black, I'm Jamaican.
I'm not black, I'm Cuban.
Catch my drift?..
Okay? Goes to show you that there is a process. They just gotta follow it.
I forgot what I was gonna comment on this. Good post, tho
Very nice.
The government has that ability. Just gotta get my paperwork in order.
One of my best friends in high school was illegal and I didn't know it til he couldn't register for community college.
It was very hard on home for a while, but he had to get his documents straight. His parents filled him over by not handling that
Yes, they are.
My ex's family are Haitian and living in the Bahamas and a couple of them are going through it right now.
Sucks cause they don't even speak Creole, but they gotta get all their shyt together
Bothwhich country are you asking about?
When Dominicans actively identify as anything other than Black or African, yeah, I would say racism is at stake. By all means pretend this isn't effecting actual Afro-Dominicans as well.
I'd imagine apartheid South Africa or Rhodesia also had rights to their policies? What the Dominican Republic is doing can be considered a crime against humanity.
Hard to get documents when you've been discriminated against for hundred of years.
Horrible comparison, Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica, and Colombia acknowledge their African roots, can't say the same for Dominicans, hell they even had kkk uniforms at a carnival
