Props for Obama for addressing this, hopefully they'll establish ways to prevent gun violence(after-school programs, youth employment, career training).
My issue is that aside from the brief platitudes from everybody involved in this situation that mental health should be looked at in addition to new gun laws, the conversation has reverted to the "new laws will solve the gun violence problem" echo chamber.
Most of the new laws won't do jack to stop the inner city gun violence (that gets glossed over in the gun control debate) or even to stop the next mentally damaged individual that decides to start shooting at people.
someone has to work low paying laborious jobs for significant portion of the day...
Unless society gives the go ahead to create an influx of robots that carry mundane task, for jobs that most humans find degrading
I actually considered going into robotics or engineering for this at one point.
I LOOOOOOOVE THREADS LIKE THIS
do I get to up the NY stop and frisk threads and see who is being a hypocrite??? naaaaaaaaah I'll leave that for y'all
but not one of you nikkas in here would be down for any of that curfew/random police checkpoint shyts so stop it
He speaking privately to students. At least that's what I was told.
I anticipate a speech from Hyde Park.
"The city does have a really big problem," said Dujuan Williams, 17, a junior at the high school, who said he lost a friend to gun violence this year. "I hope the (president's) message will be, 'Stay in school, graduate and succeed.'"
What is this? A Black male asking for the President to repeat the same "cliche" the Coli is saying that he does too much?
One of those times when "cliche" isn't a bad thing....
But this dude is being condescending by telling us to educate ourselves after we get the opportunity...
Don't you think he has no idea what he is doing?
Obama gonna tell 'em to kick off their slippers, stop eating all that fast food chicken and lay off them violent video games.
