Mos def it's also important to remember African Americans in this country have had to essentially strive from nothing with very little support or foundation. Sometimes its hard to even address the state of black community, especially to outsiders trying to look in. On one hand black people are victims of an unfair society, but on the other hand adopting the victim rhetoric does nothing towards improving future stability.
Outside of the general population being fearful of young AA's males, Americans mustn't forget a few decades ago, blacks were lynched as common as a bbq during the summer. AA's used to be jumped, spit on, told not to defend themselves, watch their wives / daughters be raped or molested at the hands of anglo-saxon males. Yet AA's are a inhuman group of wild uncivilized people?
With that said, a lot of progress has been made since the civil rights era, but more needs to be improved. Most of the change which will come gradually over time through evolving newer educated generations which will have the ability to really challenge these impractical practices. The issue of race and oppression in America, fosters a layer of sensitivity which many refuse to talk about or issue. Native Americans were the most oppressed group of people in North America, til this day, are nowhere near, the rate of covering as a functional group as AA's. Many Native American tribes have are plagued with excessive alcoholism, drugs abuse, rape, domestic abuse etc... All this ranges from the blow back of living under harsh circumstances.

One of the more interesting parts of this trial that many people failed to notice were some whites attempting to Hispanicise Zimmerman in order to deflect their own racism in defending the indefensible - killing an innocent un-armed child. Nah, we don't want him. He's all yours
