Taught by you, taught by me and everyone else. That’s what churches did at one point (some still do) but you know how that goes. Most people don’t attend church or any religious gathering.

There are books. Lots of pro Black children’s books. But most Black posters on this site know enough to teach at least a couple classes without opening a book.

Yup. Jewish people have Hebrew school, and my community used to have Saturday school where we learned a lot about black American history

I want everybody to know about the black communities contribution to american history, Not just us.
Jewish people are not in the same situation as us. Because they are still white in appearance. Their historical figures religious background might be erased from public schools. But not the figures themselves. Albert Einstein will still be learned about, they just won't go into detail about his childhood bat mitzvah.
Nat Turner on the other hand would not be taught about at all.

I agree wholeheartedly and yes, it was black history week. As i posted earlier, we had Saturday school when I was coming up and that’s how we learned about black history. Jewish people have Hebrew school and there is no excuse for us as a community to not be doing something extremely similar

We live in a disinformation society now, school curriculum should give the basis to American history which is black history. In Florida, public schools are now teaching kids that slaves was workers(prager u), that is what crt is. If you allow people to " learn on their own" they will go down a misinformation rabbit hole that will lead to some c00n or white supremacist white washing black history.

People need to learn how to discern misinformation though. Nobody is gonna hold your hand throughout life, especially racists.

Teaching about the civil war but not portraying the south as heroes? CRT
Teaching about Jim Crow laws and the civil rights movement? CRT
