I was thinking of the Jamie Foxx show lolYou know a show is grasping at straws when this happend
Just remembered another plot similar to the visiting aunt:
Pops old friend from back in the day comes to visit! Pops is as happy as can be, smiling like a teenager again and reliving old memories, and best of all the kids love him instantly. He starts telling all kinds of stories bout the crazy fukkery he and pops used to get into that the kids can hardly even believe pops was capable of.
But mom is cautious and resentful, just kinda fake smiling in his face and barely hiding her contempt. Throughout the episode she keeps pestering pops about how irresponsible and shady he is but him and the kids keep blowing her off as being a wet blanket, and the homie cracks a few jokes at her laugh it all off. But eventually, it comes to light that his homie really is visiting to try to scam or mooch off on dude, and now pops has to stand up and cut his old friend off because he's passed him by while breh is in his 2nd childhood and has become a bum. And then he has to apologize to his wife for dismissing her and she's like "I get it, I get it...but y'see I'm always right
The Parkers had a version of this scenario with Andell tryna get Nikki to see that her old homegirl Flo (Kim Coles) was foul.
This happened on The Wayans Bros.
Marlon was the wife though
The only difference was that Terrell wasn't exposed to Shawn, since Marlon covered for him.
Or ski trip, or in general snowed in...and of course the away on location Vacation episode

SAT or IQ test scores get accidentally swapped and the dumb character thinks he got a top score and the smart character failed.
The dumb character starts acting like he is smart and everybody starts treating him like he is a genius and everybody starts treating the smart one like he is an idiot. The dumb character becomes so annoying and obnoxious and gloating that it infuriates everybody.
Sometimes the dumb character gets into shenanigans way over his head like getting into some kind of Harvard gifted program or something. They may get exposed and the smart one has to help out. Everybody finds out that the scores were actually switched.
Things go back to normal and the dumb character reverts back to being a complete idiot.

No one has done the, "Absolutely insane, nonsensical shyt happens for the entire episode, then the character wakes up at the end and realizes it was all a dream."
Family Matters had the Stevil episode, Cosby had the one where all in the men in the family got pregnant, Rosanne did dream sequence for an entire season.

I was gonna do a version of that - the man's boss comes over for dinner, and the wife/children do something crazy while he's there that nearly gets the husband in big trouble.
