No one here was watching anime in the 90s. How the fukk were you watching all that shyt without the net?

:wtf: Only a few shows come in usually early in the god damn morning like 6 am.

I remember my cousin had bought the a dbz vhs and it had like the first 3 episodes on it and that shyt was like 20 bucks at this local video botique.

I know damn well know one was buying your lil 9 year old self those tapes at those prices.

I remember sailor moon coming on before school and dbz came on at like 5 am or some shyt on WB.

So its not a competiton cuz the only shyt anyone was watching was 90s cartoons.

:childplease: At these history revisionist acting like they was watching heavy animes in the mid 90s.

this thread is more of..in retrospect, which type was better?

because like you said, I didn't start really digging deep into anime until the early 2000's internet era. but looking back now, which had more quality? I'd give the edge to anime but its really close

Wait, when we say "90s Anime", are we talking anime that were actually on American TV in the 90s or shyt that was out in Japan? Because not much anime was on TV besides DBZ (late 90s) and Sailor Moon. And I guess those movies they used to play occasionally on the Sci-Fi channel. Shyt like Cowbody Bebop, Yu Yu Hakusho, etc. wasn't on TV until the 2000s.

If we're talking shyt that was actually on TV I'll go with American cartoons. Batman TAS, Spiderman TAS, X-men TAS, Superman TAS, Sonic SatAM, Darkwing Duck, etc. >>>.

i'm talking about anime released in the 90's in japan period. it wouldn't be fair if it was just the stuff got translated in the 90's for american television. like you said most of the best 90's anime didn't get released here until the 2000s

X Men TAS
Batman TAS
Spiderman TAS

first off OG TMNT is an 80's cartoon

spiderman TAS was trash. seriously go back and look at old episodes, it was made for ADHD kids, the pacing was all fukked up. it used to be my favorite cartoon as a kid but it doesn't hold up AT ALL

X-men TAS is not fukking with the top brass of anime in any way, shape, or form

:scusthov:@your list. the only one that's legit is batman

TMNT ran from 87 to 96 B. So it spent more time in the 90's than 80's

I watch spiderman TAS, Batman and Xmen all the time, they were great cartoons. My issue with spiderman was the repetitive scenes, lack of blood, and spiderman not being able to punch people.

Batman TAS shyts on every 90's anime not name DBZ

Gundam Wing and Crying Freeman >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>all of that

have you watched TMNT as an adult :to: I made that mistake a few years back because my boy had the dvds worst mistake of my life. It nearly ruined my childhood that aged so terribly I didn't know how retarded that show actually was back in the day watching now :scusthov:
And Yu Yu Hakusho>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>DBZ

Thread is kind of clusterfukked without a list. Technically DBZ was on Japanese TV in the 80s and 90s all the way up til '96. Who knows how many other animes this applies to.

But anyway I'll rock with American cartoons. Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon were in their prime. Fox had all those TAS toons and Simpsons. Can't forget The Critic

Only thing I remember about anime back then was Sailor Moon and the 6am DBZ reruns on WB lol

Growing up in the 90s :smugdraper:
