We aren't about to use common sense and realize that literally ANY person would at least consider pardoning their son, regardless of how shytty they are, ESPECIALLY if it could be done in a situation where there's little to no blowback for doing so.

Realistically speaking, he might not even have to, though. There's a chance he doesn't get sentenced to major time.
