NY State Dems' strategies have been sloppy as hell. They shouldn't have had to win back the seat in the first place and spent a LOT of money on this interim election that probably should have been a layup either way.

Not that I'm concerned about the broader national outlook. I think the interim results have been telling us that the Dems are gonna be just fine for this entire election cycle. But the New York Dems have been shoddy, and this result shouldn't have even been necessary.
Just to illustrate my point

I don't think they needed to pump so much money into this election to win. But if they did, I'd find it slightly concerning and if they didn't, I'd like a better a resource allocation strategy.

You mean democrats over performed polls again, winning elections despite negative Biden news cycles with voters upset about abortion and (republican) chaos in congress? Oh and the professional poll analytics class, who has been wrong about virtually everything since 2016, still refuses to admit their methodology is flawed or that there's been a major shift in American voting habits?
:mjlol:

All Biden has to do is not poop his pants in public and he'll win.

Dems got the money to spend and republicans don’t since Trump is talking all their money.. Dems are making republicans spend what they don’t want to in races they shouldn’t but have to which takes away from more high profile seats

This is a Dem win bro… republicans can’t relay on that Russian/nra money any more it’s over

It's obviously a win, but it's not some three-dimensional chess to draw out all the GOP money. Spending 2:1 or 3:1 on an election you win by 10 points is a waste. 1:1 would have been fine, especially with the Santos clown show being followed by all the stupidity in the House.

This isn't a win or lose issue. It's about getting the most out of the win, and when I say the NYS Dems have been awful at it; the proof is in the redistricting flop and Eric Adams actively fighting with the national message headed into last election day. This shouldn't be cover for Jay Jacobs whose been wack since Cuomo, but it'll be treated that way.

Nobody said it’s 3 deminsional chess… shyt is obvious as day… NRA is dead as an organization and that’s where the majority of the gop use to get their funding from.. Russians literally used the NRA to funnel money to gop candidates.. Thr moment that money was cut off and gop being exposed for Russian actors it was over for them..

GOP literally have no money to spend.. they are broke and add Trump taking their money to grift

Dems dropped the ball when redirecting happened a couple years ago which made NY3 more gop friendly.. but this is a huge win considering and going into Nov Dems will be posed to take NY4 and NY17

Blue wave is still on deck
The only reason polls aren't overwhelmingly for Biden is the medias bias for drama and ratings which is becoming apparent as they try and prop up trump again

I wouldn't call it a Blue Wave, as I think the Senate will still shift to Republicans.

That being said I think the narrative coming out of this election will be: Biden wins re-election; Democrats take the House; Republicans take Senate but continue to suffer loses in State and Local levels with a record turnout for 18-24 year olds.

Republicans don't have money, so why spend 7 figures in a week on an interim election?

The Dems didn't need to spend as much money as they did on this race. They could have spent half the money and gotten a similar result. Even if it was close, they'd be flipping the seat, and I don't think they needed to double the GOP expenditures to win. The 10-point margin suggests that there was plenty of room to win without spending so much money.

Lara Trump Vows 'Every Single Penny' RNC Has Will Go to Donald Trump

Lara Trump has said she will spend "every single penny" on Donald Trump if she is elected co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC).

Speaking to Rob Schmitt on Newsmax, the former president's daughter-in-law set out her stall following the GOP frontrunner's endorsement of her for the role.

The Context

Conversation has turned to the future of the RNC after The New York Times last week published a report citing anonymous sources who said the incumbent chair Ronna McDaniel was to step down.

The publication reported that McDaniel told the former president she would step down after the South Carolina primary later this month amid mounting criticism about her performance. McDaniel herself has not confirmed that she is stepping down.

"Nothing has changed. This will be decided after South Carolina," RNC spokesperson Keith Schipper told Newsweek last week.

On Tuesday, the former president outlined his support for Lara Trump, who is married to his son Eric and was a senior adviser to the Trump campaign in 2020.

"Lara is an extremely talented communicator and is dedicated to all that MAGA stands for," Trump said in a statement. "She has told me she wants to accept this challenge and would be GREAT!"

He also endorsed the North Carolina Republican Party chairman, Michael Whatley, who serves as general counsel of the RNC, as chair.

What We Know

Speaking to Schmitt, Lara Trump said: "If I am elected to this position, I can assure you there will not be any more $70,000, or whatever exorbitant amount of money it was, spent on flowers. Every single penny will go to the number one and the only job of the RNC. That is electing Donald J. Trump as the president of the United States."

She was referencing reporting from Jennifer Van Laar, a journalist for the conservative outlet RedState, that said the RNC spent $70,000 on flowers last year while the Democrats spent $795 in that period for the same category.

The GOP governing body has reported lower bank balances over the last few years, according to disclosures to the Federal Election Commission. With $9.96 million in spending money, the RNC had less than half the $21.35 million it reported in the year Donald Trump won the presidential election.

Views

Michael Cohen, Trump's former lawyer, said the former president wasn't a fan of his daughter-in-law for several years. Speaking on Tuesday with Ben Meiselas, co-founder of the progressive media outlet MeidasTouch on the Political Beatdown podcast, he said: "He didn't want Eric to even marry her. He had found somebody else that was working at the Trump Organization that he wanted Eric to marry.

"And of course, not only did Donald make fun of her looks, but so of course did [Donald Trump Jr.] and Ivanka [Trump], they all made fun of her looks. They just didn't like her at all," Cohen continued.

What's Next?

As per the RNC, any changes to the GOP governing body will be decided after the South Carolina primary, which will be held on February 24. While Trump has made his choice of candidates clear, if McDaniel steps down it will be for members of the party to vote for the next chair.
