Trump has been saying this lately at his speeches. The gimmick is that he uses an audience member or somebody else and says "sir you cannot call him a fat pig" in place of Trump directly calling Christie a fat pig. He says the gimmick outloud in the video that it's a cover so the press can't hammer him for directly calling Christie a fat pig even though that's what he's doing.

I think there are whispers behind the scenes that Trump wants a non-white VP to make him appear less racist. And it’s not to appeal to minorities, it’s to make more white people feel less guilt about voting for him.
