This fight is actually the best thing possible for the republicans suddenly because Dems will look weak if the conservative media machine gets the narrative that Dems allowed the shutdown to happen

Mccarthy is finished imo
I see him getting sacrificed for someone less moderate but not MTG or Boebert tier level messy

Stop it… this fight ain’t got shyt to do with the Dems and all he shows is Dems have the leverage… This is making the far right look weak because under no circumstances they give credit, praise or work with dems.. Gaetz is doing just that and it’s making Maga look week

They're going to blame Biden and Schumer no matter what the reality is.

Have said this before and will say it again but Biden is enjoying one of the luckiest runs in modern political history.

Most of the stuff that's clogging the airwaves/internet is typical media doing media shyt and social media doing social media shyt.

But beneath the surface Biden is doing shyt like cementing a bond with the union movement that has grown in absolute numbers by hundreds of thousands just in the last couple of years. Not only that but the approval ratings for unions is almost 70% today so even people who aren't currently in one have positive views of them. The unions are going to go all out for him in a way that I don't think we've seen with any candidate in some time.

As recent elections should have taught us, national polls are meaningless. The numbers change drastically depending on the pollster's perceptions of the electorate, which is insane when we're going to have 50 electorates, not one.

If his team was smarter they'd do nothing but talk about corporate excess is the reason for inflation etc bc unlike in past years, the gop no longer has an iron grip on the business community and its voters.

People keep misreading the polls.

The question: "do you want to replace biden" is not the same as "would you vote for trump"

This is why I tend to trust state polling more, yes. Someone like Selzer in Iowa can tell us more about that state (and allow us to infer more about the states around it and make guesses about what might happen in, say, NE-2) than national polls can.

Gaetz is singlehandedly letting Dems off the hook. Rightfully so since Repubs are in the majority and can pass something without a single Dem vote.

Gop can’t pass anything major with out a single Dem vote… Anything the gop pass that’s extreme die right in the Dem lead senate..

People have learned nothing from the 2022 midterms.

The polling in 2022 was looking so bleak for Dems but it was indicating that voters wanted them to be doing  more, not that they wanted to vote in Republicans

The dumbest one is “is Biden too old?”

Of course he is, and that’s completely irrespective of his mental state. Even if he was the political equivalent of Roger fukking Penrose, winning Nobel prizes in physics at damn near 90, it’s probably not advisable for a dynamic society to have a system that doesn’t allow the emergence of younger leaders 😂
