So it's really down to 3 possible scenarios at this point, 2 of them good for Dems

DeSantis runs, Trump does not - don't think Dems like this option

I think these 2 are good for Dems:
Trump runs, DeSantis does not - Trump already lost once, if he runs again, I expect an even bigger loss

They both run - this would be fun to watch. Let them tear each other up for 2 years. More like Trump doing most of this. DeSantis can take the high road and do the, I'm just focused on the issues, not getting in the back and forth with Trump, let his supporters go at Trump. If DeSantis doesn't engage, he'll come off looking more like the adult and Trump will just look desperate trying to bait him.

I guess we'll know on the 15th, 6 days away.

That dynamic hasn’t been how to it plays out.

If you land a good punch, that’s what is rewarded. Not engaging makes GOPers not respect you.

Trump is good on his feet when going at someone

I think the dynamic has changed. Lots of Trump endorsed candidates lost yesterday. Media is switching on him from Fox News to other conservative sites and voices. I think they tolerate him if they think he can win but they really want to move on.

DeSantis going back at Trump, I would love to see that, but I think DeSantis is smart enough to know the Dems want that plus he won't be operating like other Trump opponents in the past, from behind. Watch the new polls come out after these midterms, he'll start polling better than Trump. Already the next day, the push is starting.

We'll see, again, Trumps announcement on the 15th will determine a lot.

Move on?

They have actual steps they can take to end him. There are court cases going that can put him in jail. They stayed quiet. Impeachment, Georgia grand jury, Jan6 hearings.

You are giving a group who consistently hedge there bets too much credit. They want him to take his ball and go home without getting dirty. They’ll push DeSantis up until the point he possibly flames out like Rubio did with that flop sweat. Trump is their backup date if things don’t go well.

You're not reading. You're actually agreeing with me:

"They want him to take his ball and go home without getting dirty."

What I said earlier. When he was clear #1, they're not going to attack him (after he won) because it'll bounce right back on them. He was attacked when he was running from the R nod but then they all bent the knee. Now, they're going to feel a little safer moving on from him.

No we are not agreeing

You’re talking about “moving on” like a break up. I’m telling you they aren’t breaking up. They just want to play the field and see what is out there but have the option to come back.

Testify to courts on Jan6 and Georgia and end him now. Put his ass in jail.

Moving on means ending things on whatever terms it is. Not just feeling things out with their new crush DeSantis or seeing if he’s still got #1 juice.

Like I’m saying. That’s why they don’t want things to get dirty for either of them.

I said they were starting to move on, examples have already been dropped in these various threads. From Fox News, New York Post, a lot of right wing voices on social media etc. If Trump declares he is running again and DeSantis does not, of course they will support Trump, he'll be the R pick. But most are starting to want DeSantis to run. He has a better chance of winning than Trump

Ron DeSantis is the new Republican Party leader
