Ahh yes, the annual unpaid labor convo after bowl season show. I know I’ve came across as an apologists for the show but I’m bowing out. These guys are bytching about the NCAA, ESPN and bowl sponsors not paying athletes while absolving the schools of any responsibility to pay them. The schools got what they wanted when the NCAA took a hands off approach to NIL. And it’s still not enough to Dan and crew. Which is ironic since they get paid by a gambling entity millions who make billions off people gambling on games that they don’t have to share any funds with the same athletes they want to see get their portion. They were cool with the mothership when they were on the payroll now it’s salt the earth since they’re not anymore? The takes are lazy and it’s become an
echo chamber of group thought. This is why I miss Hoch cause at least he would push back on Dan and Stu when they had these holier than thou takes. Mike is cool with the med school frauding it up to pay for things to make the U great again but Dukes Mayo not paying the starting QB is an injustice?
FOH…this show is done for. Even the interviews aren’t on par like they were even a decade ago. It’s just invite friends on who share the same POV. Have fun with this y’all.
I'll never forget Dan not getting the backlash he had got for saying Magic Johnson was unqualified. And he didn't say it once, he was making jokes for weeks about it.
And that's a good point about Draft Kings.
I am just hurt that ESPN was right. The ratings are there on the podcasts so I am happy they are successful. Youtube numbers are HORRIBLE. I thought that would be the thing that causes change. The whole Zoom youtube thing is so fukking stupid to me, I don't want to look at people being awkward when they aren't talking. Just don't know what's going on.
I used to be a daily listener before the panny and them going to Draft Kings, but, it's hard to come back.
I'm still subbed to the pod and tried to check out the SVG interview. But, this clowns litterally sung for a full 30 seconds in between every thought he had.
I said it right after they left; ESPN was right to give him limits and parameters.
This whole "why can't I talk about Trump" as if CNN, MSNBC, twitter, YouTube didn't have wall-to-wall coverage of every thing he did-
-to the point they ignored his actually policy (which was bad most of the time) to talk about his gaffs--was stupid.
I don't mind politics, but, they got to a point it seemed that Dan wants to be a politics/culture show more than a sports show.
Which makes his beef with Joe Rogan funny because he sounds jealous is basically the same "free thinker" he shyts on Rogan for being.
EDIT: the Zoom thing is another thing; that's got to be Dan's idea.
Ya'll all jabbed up and prolly boosted and ain't they in the same building.
