Ahh yes, the annual unpaid labor convo after bowl season show. I know I’ve came across as an apologists for the show but I’m bowing out. These guys are bytching about the NCAA, ESPN and bowl sponsors not paying athletes while absolving the schools of any responsibility to pay them. The schools got what they wanted when the NCAA took a hands off approach to NIL. And it’s still not enough to Dan and crew. Which is ironic since they get paid by a gambling entity millions who make billions off people gambling on games that they don’t have to share any funds with the same athletes they want to see get their portion. They were cool with the mothership when they were on the payroll now it’s salt the earth since they’re not anymore? The takes are lazy and it’s become an echo chamber of group thought. This is why I miss Hoch cause at least he would push back on Dan and Stu when they had these holier than thou takes. Mike is cool with the med school frauding it up to pay for things to make the U great again but Dukes Mayo not paying the starting QB is an injustice? :mjlol: FOH…this show is done for. Even the interviews aren’t on par like they were even a decade ago. It’s just invite friends on who share the same POV. Have fun with this y’all.

I am just hurt that ESPN was right. The ratings are there on the podcasts so I am happy they are successful. Youtube numbers are HORRIBLE. I thought that would be the thing that causes change. The whole Zoom youtube thing is so fukking stupid to me, I don't want to look at people being awkward when they aren't talking. Just don't know what's going on.

I can see how that can be for some but I’ve been stuck in academia the past two years so I’ve grown accustomed to it. My issue is the lazy content. It’s been a grip since they had a Kyle Turley type interview. That’s what originally made me a fan back in ‘09. The last show that gave me that type of feel was the post January 6 rant with Meech on

This right here, and listen I love Witty and used to listen to him on 790....but he's too involved as "talent" on the show, I get he's a sports broadcast child genius, but his personality sucks. Very nice guy and great at broadcasting and traditional sports radio.

I was way more baffled at the ending rant by Dan about Joe Rogan and the "free thinkers" podcast wave from the last couple of years. Not even sure what Dan was getting at besides the most obvious point possible regarding that subject (who those people cater for and that they are not journalist so they can say fukk off to anyone that tries to raise their integrity/ethical standard).

The bowl stuff they've clowned ESPN while being at ESPN. It's the typical "sports is so hypocritical" take they've done since the show's inception. II think the only difference is that normally they would cut to Billy making fun of the show/Dan for taking that Fanduel money and not caring about non paid labor :dead:

"Words of Chizdom" had me :mjlol: btw

It seems like they want another lockdown from how they discussed the NBA and COVID. They must've secured a helluva agreement with DraftKings, because if I was the CEO or anyone with power, I would've told them to shut the fukk up about how the games are meaningless.

Also, I know they don't travel across state lines for their job, but I feel like they wouldn't be holier than thou if they were required to provide a daily negative test.

I know I'm probably gonna get all kinds of lit up over this, but uh..........

I'm with Witty on not fukking with Succession. I made it through the first episode, and promptly ejected because there wasn't a single character that I could latch on to, since they're all insufferable a$$holes. Even Cousin Greg. It's like the show took the idea of the flawed protagonist from the last 16 years or so of prestige TV, and forgot that it works because all of them have some sort of relatable or charismatic hook.

We also gotta have a conversation that just as the 80s and 90s had the Impossible White Man action movie genre that ran everything, the mid 2000s and forward have the White People Behaving Badly genre running shyt.

I'm hesitant to even check this show out.

Most shows that Dan tends to hype up are not really my cup of tea.

The witty police siren sound

:laff: :laff: :laff: :laff:

i dont know how ya feel and the bit can be funny, but they really try to find anything little thing to catch witty with

I think they truly are intimidated by his very polished acumen and general inteligence.
