I wrote something similar irt black student organizations on college campuses. As much as they say they’re for uplifting and educating black communities, I rarely, if ever, see any calls for volunteering or establishing after school programs for these communities. Even their mission statements are written to where they don’t alienate white folks. You can’t say you’re for the enlightenment of everyone about the black experience when you yourselves are failing to enlighten your own communities. Want to see a BSO that doesn’t soft shoe it? Read SF State University’s mission statement. Makes everyone else’s look like it was written by Dr. Seuss. Either be all the way in or get out the way and lend support those who are.Man that Bomani segment on Bron and the context he gave
he killed it!
Kyrie, Jaylen, George Hill and them were serious
“you ain’t Ali, you will never be Ali, which is fine” basically just own it. You can’t have it both ways.

Dan wrote something
Le Batard: How the NBA became a powerful political organization
He's not wrong about Jordan but that backhand compliment was salty Dan at it's best
I wish Bomani had spoken his thoughts on Bron on one of ESPN's tv programs, the Kendrick Perkins and Jason Williams of the sports media world need to hear that.
the call with Papi at the beginning of the Big Suey hour
I listened to Bomani's podcase and was shock how much he went in without being disrespectful
People were really trying to spin the boycott "Lebron did...it was Lebron."
Dude is a good man, but, he is Coporate Bron.
listened to bo's pod, his feelings on bron are mine exactly. i wish that was a bigger discussion across the sports media. bron does safe things like send tweets or roll with whatever action is "in" and people act like he's really putting it on the line or on the same level as ali, or even kaepernick - he's not. applaud his efforts, but don't overstate them therefore devaluing the real effort/work real activists are putting in.
people like you are the exact reason Bo even had to do that pod. smhBomani calling this dude safe is laughable....This is a cheap shot, doesn't matter how eloquent he saysit....Lebron is the ONLY SUPERSTAR EVER to be this vocal. He is the reason a lot of these young superstars ARE vocal. He is also the reason the NBA is more vocal than ever, because it BIGGEST STAR is up front on these issues. Nobody with his visibility besides ALI has ever shown a fraction of what he's done on social issues. Him being "Safe" is bullshyt, simply because no one at his level of fame was doing it before him.
Bomani knows what he is doing, just like Pablo knew what he was doing, mentioning Lebron gives listens and clicks.

forgot derek rose was the first player out there with i cant breathe shirts, etc. today it's acceptable to be more vocal, you can even look in "woke" workplace that have allowed more noice from their black employees. lebron operates safely within the norms of today, he hasn't put himself on the line (which isn't a requirement, but people need to stop acting like he has)You forget when Lebron was just turning his shirt inside out and shyt.
