I'm curious about how people feel about Steve Smith and Latrell SPrewell (sp) but the thread is really about CLyde Drexler.

Personally i never rliked dude but i respect his game and accomplishments. But was talking to someone yesterday about SGs and all these names came up and homie said besides MJ and Kobe and AI there are very few SG's he'd pick over Drexler. Another dude that was there agreed. :dahell:
I just laughed and walked away :mjlol:
I laughed at it but then again i cant say i paid that much attention to Clyde when he played. I remember when there was a deal on the table to trade him to Miami for Harold Miner and me being the Miner STAN that I was was strictly opposed to it.

Clyde was a beast, whats to laugh at?

And why would you expect people who never saw him play include him on their lists?

Notice i said "long time NBA fans" is who i wanted to hear from.

Again i respect Clyde but rarely saw him during the Portland years. All i remembered about him in Portland is that he was a great rebounder for a SG but i hated the fact that he dribbled with his head down. Again, I was basing that opinion on very few games and highlights i saw of him. Dude would sometime dribble the ball the entire lenght of the court with his head down.

But his numbers dont lie. He was a great player. Just that he never crosses my mind when i think of top 5 SGs :manny:

off pure talent, that's my list. Tracy > kobe :blessed:
Sometimes I view Tracy as just a great scorer/playmaker. He was fun to watch but often failed with the few opportunities he had. If it's all about offense id pick him over Kobe no doubt. But overall game as much as I hate Kobe i gotta give the rapist snitch his props

Im almost certain i'd pick random cats like Allan Houston and maybe just maybe Sprewell over him.

But thats just me :manny:

Steve Smith was Danny Granger status

I don't think he got enough credit defensively. I don't think I've seen anyone else ever block kobe's fadeaway, multiple times at that.

He was not a horrible defender at all. He just wasnt as gread a defender as Kobe or MJ or Wade. He wont make a whole lot of 1st team defense squads but that's not saying he was a punk on D either.

With his height he cant but be at lease decent. Have you ever seen that linky mofo in person :pachaha: He is one looooong motha fuka (no home)
