What looks like a perfectly innocent photo, actually has a very chilling back story. This photo of two brothers, Sean McQuilken and Michael McQuilken, was taken by their sister in Sequoia National Park in 1975. They were hiking with their sister when bizarrely, their hair began to stand on end as the weather got worse. Unbeknownst to them, their hair standing on end was a sign that lightning was about to hit. As lightning reigned down, it struck Sean, who remained unconscious for 6 months and suffered from third degree burns. Both Michael and their sister were left unharmed. Sadly, Sean, unable to get over this tragic event and his horrific injuries, committed suicide in 1989.
