I heard his movie was really good haven't seen it myself tho.

But it's true we haven't seen a good rapper movie in awhile. I think it's because of the era and social media. A lot of today's rappers aren't really artists, and they wanna maintain their image.

Andre 3k was an artist in every sense of the word. Same for Pac, Cube, etc. So they were able to take a movie role and apply that same effort that they put into their music into their movies and they understood how to paint pictures.

A lot of these new guys don't put much effort into their music, let alone anything else. But there's definitely some mainstay guys that I think would do fine in a lead role, Meek (I believe he produced a small movie), Ross (had minor roles) Roddy Ricch, Denzel Curry, so on and so forth I think would embrace the challenge.
